Get Involved
is a new website and campaign designed
specifically to provide undergraduate
residence hall students with
information to help you get involved in the
halls and around the University. You will
find links to information about leadership
opportunities in the residence halls (such
as
CBSU and UNFAS), involvement on
campus (such as the
Illinois Student Senate and
RSOs), developing leadership and getting
funding.
This means- it's
up to you. It's up to you to gather, create,
discover, learn, do. It's up to you to join
a group that already exists. It's up to you
to create a new group if you want. The
Residential Life staff are here to help you
learn how. Each week for the first six weeks
and then once a month for the rest of the
semester you will find information in the
residence halls that will help you learn
about getting involved. You will learn about
Getting Connected, Getting others to Join,
Planning programs and finding money,
Developing your group into a team, Creating
a vision, Motivating members, Fulfilling
Commitments and resigning gracefully and
finally, Developing relationships with
Professional Staff. Look for the Get
Involved Logo on posters and advertisements
in your hall. Look for bulletin boards in
your lobby with information as well. Check
back here to the Get Involved website as
more information is posted!
