Registered Student
Organization (RSO) Funding
For complete information on Registered
Student Organizations (RSO), visit the
RSO web site at:
http://www.union.uiuc.edu/rso/.
Any housing based
student group can register to become an
RSO by following the procedures
described at the RSO web site. If a group is an
RSO, in addition to their housing based
student fund account, the group may have
an RSO account.
About RSO
Accounts:
-
The RSO treasurer is
required to go through a treasurer
training provided by the RSO office.
You can access the RSO treasurer’s
handbook information at the following
web site:
http://www.union.uiuc.edu/rso/workshops.html
-
The RSO treasurer is held
fiscally responsible for the RSO account
– thus, if the RSO account goes into the
red, the treasurer will be personally
encumbered
-
As an advisor to a housing
based student group that is also an RSO,
it is wise to have knowledge of what is
in the RSO account and how the money is
being utilized. It is also wise to know
as much as you can about the policies,
procedures, and rules governing RSO
accounts.
If a
Residential Life based student group
chooses to become an RSO and have an RSO
account, Residential Life has the
following expectations:
Contact the
RSO Office at 333-1153 (280 Illini
Union) when:
-
You have any questions
about your group becoming an RSO or
policies and procedures governing RSO
accounts
-
Your group wants to
reserve space outside of residence hall
property
-
