All newly hired paraprofessionals (including mid-year staff) must enroll and successfully complete EOL 199: Residential Life Paraprofessional Training Course. This course is 2 credits, meets for 10 weeks and includes a weekend retreat day.

This course is an exploratory course on the impact and influence of social identity on self and in the community. This course explores the intersection of identities and experiences, the impact of identity on communication and conflict, and the understanding of identity in a community setting. We'll use dialogic method, facilitated activities, group discussions, out of class experiences and other opportunities which involve facilitated conversations about issues that impact community. Facilitators help guide the conversations and provide oversight for the course function.

Further information about the staff class registration will be mailed with candidate offer letters in December. For future planning purposes, the Spring 2008 sections are included below. The 10-week class begins the week of February 18, 2008 and ends the week of April 30, 2008. Please note that all sections have Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 9:45 am until 5pm as the required weekend retreat day.
