Selection Timeline for Midyear (January 2004)
Employment
Each year the Department of Residential Life experiences some turn
over in the RA position at mid-year. This turnover is typically due to
early graduation, academic difficulties, or performance difficulties.
The number of RA vacancies in the past few years has been between 12-15
for the entire residence hall system. We have not had any
mid-year MA vacancies yet, as the program is still new/small, but
will still look for people who may be interested just in case!
Candidates who were placed in the alternate pool in February
2004 are eligible for January 2005 hiring. If the current
alternate RAs have been placed, or it is anticipated there will not
be enough alternates to plan for January 2005 vacancies, candidates
participating in the 2005-2006 process who indicate interest &
availability for employment in January will be considered for
immediate hire after their interview day.
Thus, mid-year selection follows the same timeline and
requirements as the 2005-2006 process.
Mid-year hires should note the following training requirements:
January 13, 2005 - Mid-year hire RAs & MAs return to campus
January 14, 2005 - Participate in training program for mid-year hires
January 15, 2005 - Participate in RA & MA Winter Training program
