Passover Dining Information
Passover takes place this year from sunset Monday, April 2,
through Tuesday, April 10, 2007.
All dining halls will offer a variety of traditional Passover
food items to assist with the observance of this holiday. Choices
include matzo ball soup, matzo crackers, kosher grape juice, coconut macaroons, charoset,
matzo brie, and hard boiled eggs. In addition,
the campus Hillel Foundation serves kosher dinner meals Monday -
Friday. During the eight days of Passover, lunch and dinner meals
are served at Hillel. If you would like to take Kosher meals at
the Hillel Foundation on Fridays or during Passover and would like a
meal credit:
- Email housing@uiuc.edu
with your name and hall address.
- Inform Housing of your choice and indicate which meals you
will not eat.
Housing will verify that you did not eat meals and credit your
account for the food cost for the missed meals. The food cost credit
is $1.20 per breakfast, $1.85 per lunch, and $2.75 per dinner. The
credit will be posted to your
University account and appear on the next Student Account Receivable
(SAR) statement.
All dining halls will provide kosher take-out dinners. Please
notify the manager as you enter the dining hall that you would like
a kosher meal.
