Welcome to University Housing!
 

Hall assignments for new residents of Living-Learning Communities will be sent via email on May 27. Hall assignments for all other new students will be sent June 2. Room assignments for undergraduate and graduate upper division residence halls will be available online beginning July 24. You will receive an email in your UIUC account with instructions on how to log in and view your assignment. Your assignment will contain information about your room, roommate(s), meal plan, and more. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore the links below to learn more about University Housing and the campus community.

Move-in Day
Move-in day for new freshmen and transfer students is Thursday, August 21. Freshman residents of Living-Learning Communities, who have registered for LLC Orientation, is Tuesday, August 19. Returning students move in on Saturday, August 23.

What if it's impossible for me to move in on my designated day?
Residents of Sherman and Daniels Halls may submit an Early Arrival Request. Residents of undergraduate residence halls are strongly encouraged to arrived on their designated move-in day (Thursday, August 21 for new freshmen and transfer students; Tuesday, August 19 for new residents of Living-Learning Communities). If moving in on a weekday causes your family significant hardship, we may be able to assist you. Please contact the Housing Information Office for details of fees and what services may or may not be available.

I'm an international student. When can I arrive?
Students with a confirmed Fall contract in Sherman or Daniels can move in to Sherman or Daniels starting Wednesday, August 6.  To make arrangements for early arrival move in at Sherman or Daniels students can complete an Early Arrival Request form. The rate is $25 per night.
Students with contracts in halls other than Sherman and Daniels and who have early arrival housing in FAR can move into their fall University Housing room at 9am on Sunday, August 17. Students with contracts in halls other than Sherman and Daniels who arrive on Sunday, August 17, can move into their fall University Housing room at noon.  The rate for early arrival housing starting on August 17 is $50 per night for each student. This fee will be charge to the Student’s Account and reflected in the October 2008 bill. This fee includes 2 meals each day (lunch and dinner) accessible to the student in two dining locations on campus (Peabody Drive for Champaign Residents and Pennsylvania Avenue for Urbana residents).  When students are ready to check in to their fall University Housing room they can go directly to their area or complex front desk and the desk staff will check them in, give them their room key and card access to the facility. Below is a breakdown of costs:
Move in Sunday, August 17th = $200
Move in Monday, August 18th = $150
Move in Tuesday, August 19th = $100
Move in Wednesday, August 20th = $50

International students who would like to arrange for early arrival housing before August 17 can contact the University Housing Conferences & Special Events staff.

Townsend, Blaisdell, and Carr's New Furniture
Townsend Hall (in ISR) and Blaisdell and Carr (in PAR) will receive new student room furniture this summer. (Other halls will follow over the next few years.) The new furniture is loftable and can be configured by residents. Florida Avenue Residence Halls and Wardall Hall received new furniture last year.

Have a microwave/refrigerator delivered to your room before you arrive
(Microfridges are already provided in Sherman Hall and Daniels Hall rooms)
